Symptoms
Sore throat, especially when swallowing.
Fever.
What is it?
Tonsillitis is when the tonsils become inflamed.
The tonsils are located at the back of the throat, behind the mouth.
They can be caused by a virus or bacteria.
What is the treatment?
If it's a virus, our body can eliminate it on its own.
Only a syrup might be needed to reduce pain, but it will heal on its own over time.
If it's a bacterial infection, antibiotics are necessary to completely eliminate it.
