How do you know you have it?
Your eye turns red and itches a lot.
It can feel like you have sand in your eye. Sometimes green, sticky mucus comes from the infected eye.
How do you treat it?
Clean your eye with gauze and saline.
Put an antibiotic eye drop in your eye several times a day until it is better.
What should you do?
Don't rub your eye...no matter how much it itches!
Wash your hands before and after touching your eyes. This helps to stop the spread of pink eye.
Pink eye is very contagious, so for a few days you can't go to school.
And remember, always ask your doctor!
