Lactose intolerance
Lactose intolerance
How do you know you have it?
There are a couple of symptoms for lactose intolerance.
The main ones are stomach ache, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, swollen belly and gas.
What is lactose intolerance?
Lactose is a type of sugar that is found in milk.
Some people's intestines don't digest lactose from milk well. That's why, when these people consume milk, their intestines become inflamed and they feel unwell.
What should you do?
Currently, there's no cure for lactose intolerance.
You need to avoid foods with lactose, mainly milk and its derivatives: Cheese, cream, butter, ice cream, chocolate, custards, etc.
Fortunately, more and more lactose-free foods are being produced. In some cases, it's recommended to consume yogurt with bifidus, as fermented products are easier to digest.
And remember, always ask your doctor!
